Our advanced in-house tooling team, equipped with modern technology, produces the precise dies and fixtures used in our metalforming & assembly operations.
Our team of highly skilled designers, toolmakers and CNC technicians, along with the application of modern technology has enabled us to become a leading manufacturer of small, miniature, and micro-sized metalformed components and subassemblies.
Our tooling systems and technologies are constantly evolving since the company was founded in 1979. Our toolmaking team takes pride in creating economic tooling that will perform flawlessly in production. We often find ourselves developing tooling for programs so difficult that others won't even quote.
Our highly skilled team is equipped with state of the art 3D Solid modeling CAD systems, CNC machining centers, CNC wire EDM and high speed hard milling capabilities.
Our high-production progressive dies commonly are...
A progressive die is used to transform a continuous thin metal strip of raw material into a completed part. This transformation is performed incrementally, or progressively, by a series of separate die stations that pierce, form and coin the strip of flat material into the desired geometric shape to create a completed production part.
The series of internal die components that perform each of the operations on the material are uniquely shaped to create the desired geometry on the production part. These components are guided through openings in the die plates which are in turn precisely located and guided by pins. A typical die cross-section is shown in the photo above.
The upper half of the die is actuated by the press ram, cycling it up and down. The press also feeds the correct length of material strip into the die between each press stroke. The production part is attached to the strip until all operations have been completed.
